What is Forging Futures Education Fund?

Forging Futures is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering residents of Gillespie County through access to education. We provide financial assistance, community support, and resources to help individuals pursue higher education, vocational training, and career development.

Who can benefit from your programs?

 While our primary focus is awarding scholarships to Gillespie County residents, we also collaborate with schools, counselors, and community partners to help students and families navigate the path to post-secondary education and career readiness.

Is Forging Futures a government organization?

No. Forging Futures is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supported through private donations, grants, and community contributions.

How can I support Forging Futures?

You can make a one-time or recurring donation through our website. We also welcome local business sponsorships, planned giving, memorial contributions, and volunteer involvement. Every contribution makes a difference in a student’s life.

Are donations tax-deductible?

Yes! Forging Futures is a registered nonprofit organization, and all contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. A donation receipt will be provided for your records.

Do you offer multi-year scholarships?

YES! Most FFEF scholarships are renewable in order to achieve the intended goal.

Can scholarships go toward Vo-Tech degrees and programs?

YES! FFEF scholarships can be used towards any accredited institution. This includes vocational training programs, certification programs, community colleges, and universities.

I have been out of school for a while, Can I still apply?

YES! Any eligible Gillespie County resident, regardless of age, academic status or level of education, can apply.

What if I am planning to attend a school outside of Gillespie County?

FFEF scholarships can be applied to any accredited institution in or out of Gillespie County.

How do I apply for a FFEF scholarship?

Easy! Just apply online or come by the foundation office - 1105 North Llano, Suite 102 - to pick up an application.

How much is awarded per scholarship type?

Amount varies based on tuition cost.

Ex. University applicants can receive approximately $2,500 - $10,000 Certification Programs can receive approximately $250-$1000
